Ooops! Sorry I didn’t see this sooner. I took the class at the University of Washington. Favorite exercise: Cut a twig from a winter deciduous tree or shrub and put it in a vase with water. Draw the twig as it opens and grows using a different drawing technique once a week.
Love the exercise. What a great way to appreciate the wonder of a twig!
I just read your blog in Scientific American and I’m really fascinated with your course. I double majored in Biology and Studio Art in undergrad and now I’m currently in a PhD program in Cellular Biology. I was wondering if you could recommend how I could bring a course like this to my school.
